The USS Horizon Captain Scott Deadilus Lt. Commander Autumn Falls USS Horizon

The USS Horizon has been tasked with exploring the sections of space close to Federation borders. Although extensively modified from the original Nova-class design, the moderate hull life necessitates bi-annual returns to some of the newer Deep Space and Outpost stations.

Primarily but not exclusively involved in planetary expeditions, the crew of the USS Horizon have been assigned to investigate beyond the Federation realm, exploring dead worlds, spatial phenomena, making first contact with previously unknown races, and furthering the scientific understanding of the Federation.

A veteran of several tours of duty on larger Starfleet vessels and an ex-Chief Science Officer, Captain Deadilus proudly commands the small vessel and her crew.

The USS Relentless

Captain Abigail Winters Commander Portnoy Jessop USS Relentless

After the return of the USS Voyager, many of the Intrepid class vessels have been scheduled for modification to both overcome existing problems and enhance existing systems. The USS Relentless was one of the first to undergo a series of refits, incorporating more powerful phaser arrays, enhanced rate of fire torpedo tubes, enhanced sensor arrays and expanded science and medical facilities.

Although reading like a ship of war, the USS Relentless has also been fitted with a recovered Progenitor device, making it capable of travelling between different universes! As a by-product of installing the Progenitor 'jump drive', the Relentless itself has achieved sentience. The ship and her crew have been tasked with exploring other universes in both a quest for knowledge and for technology. As such, the Relentless has become a key vessel in exploring beyond the unknown...

Starbase 9

Admiral Elizabeth Foster Commander Frank Burgle Starbase 9

Acting as a 'Base of Operations' to both the USS Horizon and USS Relentless, the Immense-class Starbase 9 also forms the Federation's only real presence in the surrounding sectors of space.

With command recently handed over to Admiral Foster, Starbase 9 still has an element of corruption at its core, although the new Chief of Security and Spec Ops, Darien Trent, is helping the Admiral to weed out the most corrupt elements.

NOTE: Starbase 9 is a non-posting unit, although some Additional Player Characters (APCs) are included in the crew roster for cross-post purposes.
This information is provided primarily for background use within Horizon and Relentless stories only.

The USS Exeter

Captain Hito Nagama Commander Benoit Naonak USS Exeter

Supporting Starbase 9, the USS Exeter acts as a 'border patrol vessel', maintaining a watchful eye on this corner of the Federation.

Equipped with a multitude of support vessels, including short-range shuttles, fighters and runabouts, the Exeter and her crew can often be founding responding to anything from natural emergencies to acts of war.

NOTE: The Exeter is a re-occurring non-posting unit. This information is provided for background use within Horizon, Relentless and Starbase 9 stories only.

The USS Destiny

Captain Leora Wey Commander Mark Mendez USS Destiny

Although the Steamrunner-class was to be slowly phased out, many of the light cruisers have found a new life after their refits as Scientific Support Variants (SSVs).

The USS Destiny, under the command of Captain Leora Wey and Executive Officer Commander Mark Mendez, is one of the first Steamrunner SSVs to be deployed onto the front-lines to support both their home starbase and dedicated scientific vessels such as the USS Horizon and USS Relentless.

NOTE: The Destiny is a re-occurring non-posting unit. This information is provided for background use within Horizon, Relentless and Starbase 9 stories only.
