Born on Persephone, a colony near the Cardassian border, Remmick's father was a Starfleet officer, and his mother a Federation research scientist.
Remmick was influenced against a Starfleet career when his father was killed in 2360, a victim of another skirmish with the belligerent Cardassian Union. He pursued his mother's career of pure research, unfettered by immediate military gains, and joined the Daystrom Institute scant months before the Dominion War broke out in 2373.
After three years studying as a scholarship student, he gained a Masters in Advanced Engineering Concepts, a broad-based subject that encompassed most modern mechanical ideas in civilian and military life. Wishing to pursue his studies further, Remmick realised that the greatest opportunities were open only to the Federation's Starfleet, and reluctantly - but determinedly - enrolled in the Academy in 2376.
He graduated in 2380 with an Academy Degree in Starship Engineering, and a Minor in Computer Diagnostics, and served his cadet cruise with the Advanced Starship Design
Bureau of the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. Hoping to relocate to the Engineering Division of Starfleet Research and Development, Remmick was instead informed that he had to take a field position to gain the basic skills required by all Starfleet officers. Starfleet
personnel have recommended his commission to Starbase Nine's officer pool. |

| Attributes |
|
|
|
|
|
| Strengths /
Talents: |
Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, wide range of Starfleet equipment. Has a versatile and improvised approach to problems. Prides himself on his adaptability to alien technology. |
| Weaknesses /
Limits: |
Remmick has only travelled briefly on starships, and has never served aboard a Starfleet vessel. He suffers from ausea as a result of artificial gravity.
He is socially inept, and unfamiliar with the strict chain of command that Starfleet operates under. He is not especially fit. |
| Ambitions: |
To pursue his studies, gain a research position with a prestigious Federation university, and survive his field posting. |
| Special
Abilities: |
Other than his Engineering training and capabilities, Remmick has not pursued any other skills. He can speak and understand Cardassian, although does so rarely and reluctantly. |
| Traditions: |
None |
| Strong Beliefs: |
Remmick has an innate suspicion of the military, and its exploitation of the research establishment for weapons technology. It is with the greatest difficulty that he has adjusted to being a part of that military. |
| Likes: |
Ancient Earth Music, 18th-23rd Century. Reading and contributing to the Starfleet Engineering Journal. Discussing theoretical engineering concepts. |
| Dislikes: |
Since childhood, and the loss of his father, Remmick has harboured a deep aversion to the Cardassian
people. The Dominion War only solidified that hatred into a palpable
hate as his homeworld was one of the planets conquered.
Remmick dislikes social situations, and prefers the company of other engineers, researchers, or himself.
He also dislikes space travel, especially small vessels such as shuttles. |
| Marital Status: |
Single. |
| Quirks: |
He finds conversations exceptionally difficult, unless they focus on science and mechanical studies.
Unless it is to do with technological equipment, Remmick is quite untidy, and unconcerned about his personal
appearance. |
