Title: Not Rabbit Proof

The warm water felt good as it poured over her skin and slowly the aching in her muscles started to ease. Autumn was determined that one day she was going to pay Dathan back and beat him in a training fight.

Switching off the water she quickly dried off and wrapped her hair in a towel. Browsing her wardrobe the COO decided to forgo the usual uniform and picked something casual out.

Brushing her hair and tying it back Autumn was just about ready to leave. However, something made her stop; something was wrong, something was missing. She looked around her quarters everything was very neat and the room was quiet. It then hit her - where was Sooty?

“Here Sooty, here soot, soot, soot.” Her calls to the rabbit produced nothing and a wave of dread crept over here.

Turning her quarters upside down, she looked for every possible hiding place that he may have found and made his home. Autumn felt flustered as the effort produced no rabbit. She finally sank onto the floor at a loss as to what to do next. It was then that something caught her eye - the air vent looked slightly chewed. Crawling over to the vent Autumn saw the distinguishable teeth marks of Sooty.

Sooty had staged an escape and Autumn could only smile as she was so proud of him. However, she was going to have to think about 'rabbit-proofing'.

Autumn went over to the computer. Her quarters were located on deck 4 and only thing on this floor that seemed like a possible destination for her rabbit friend was the Arboretum.

In the Arboretum she found a very happy rabbit munching away in the 'salad' section. Scooping him up he felt heavier than usual and she casually tickled him behind the ears. Autumn would have chastised him but Sooty hadn’t quite grasped the use of the English language yet.

She took him back to her quarters and blocked off his escape route with a box. She didn’t think he needed anymore food so she just filled up his water bottle.

She quickly made her way to the bar and was pleased that her little search and recover mission for Sooty hadn’t delayed her. Autumn took a seat at one of the tables just as Dathan walked in. He took her drink order and went off to the bar. As he returned Autumn smiled and relaxed.

"So, what do you want to know about me Lieutenant?" Asked Dathan as he took his seat.

“Well, why don’t you tell me about your family and then anything embarrassing about yourself that I can use later against you if need be. That would be nice.” Autumn smiled and Dathan laughed as he thought of a good place to
start.
