Title: Unnoticed & Unappreciated
Author: Troy Baker
Time: During "Day and Night to Remember" to current
Scene: USS Horizon
Troy Baker worked quickly attending to the customers that were coming up back
and forth to the bar. He liked work when it was busy - it took other things off
of his mind. He was still hurt and frustrated with Tammin but work was his love,
and he soon forgot about her. Mr. Baker enjoyed watching people dancing and
laughing. Of course, there were the people that sat at the bar and wouldn't move
a muscle but Troy found that rather amusing also.
"What do a Ferengi and a Klingon have in common?" A Bald man asked his friend.
Troy had wanted to hear the answer but had been watching a small gathering over
in the far corner. He glanced at the group that was beginning to get loud and he
had been around long enough to predict when things were going to turn ugly. Lt.
Commander L'Cir was too busy with his new team members to notice so Troy decided
he would take the opportunity to interrupt.
"I think you guys better do something, I think there's gonna be a..."
But it was too late.
As the group were escorted out, Troy began making his demands: He wanted charges
laid or complete payment for all the damage. After the incident the Gateway
quickly shut down, and Troy began cleaning up with assistance from some of those
in Security and Operations.

"Troy, how much would you settle for?" Queried L'Cir
"The cost of the damage to my establishment? Five bars of gold-pressed latinum,
and not a strip less."
With that Dathan nodded and proceeded on his way. It was obvious the Department
Head thought that he was asking a little too much, but it wasn't solely about
the damage - it was the effort and work that Troy had put into making the
Gateway an enjoyable place to be, although he knew that no-one else would see it
that way. As Troy finished cleaning the remainder of the mess, he looked around
to where the seating and tables had once been.
He was still quite upset with the visit from L'Cir and was muttering some
profanity that would surprise those who thought they knew the Barman quite well.
Troy turned around and noticed Captain Deadilus standing nearby with Dathan by
his side.
"I understand you want five bars of gold-pressed latinum or you are going to
press charges against the officers involved in last night's incident?" The
Captain questioned.
"Well, it covers the cost of damages to my establishment!" Troy exclaimed.
The Captain kindly explained that the Gateway belonged to Starfleet and that all
items damaged were also their property. Troy really had no choice but to agree
to the Captain's bargaining. The amount of work Troy had put into the place had
gone unnoticed, and he felt unappreciated. He pulled one of his most expensive
bottles down and pulled out a glass; without another word, the Barman began
filling the glass to the rim before downing it all.
