Dathan got to work straight away. However, the more he investigated, the more puzzling the situation. According to the computer security log, the level three diagnostic of the transporters had been ordered and authorized from the Operations station on the Bridge. However, after examining it to see whose access codes were used, the COS was at a loss - the codes were those of Autumn Falls, who was not onboard at the time.

He knew that Autumn would never share her personal codes with anyone except maybe the Captain, and he had already shown his surprise at the diagnostic being run. The COS then began to examine the Operations control access panel in detail. After several scans and a great deal of help from engineering, they appeared to have their answer.

Dathan hit his combadge and requested the Captain come to Engineering to examine their findings. Once he arrived, L'Cir began.

"Captain, knowing Lieutenant Falls would not just hand her clearance codes out to just anyone, Remmick scanned the access controls and found that they were not reprogrammed from anyone onboard. However, it turns out they were reprogrammed from a remote location - there are the remains of an unknown signature encrypted onto the access keys."

Ensign Remmick touched a couple of keys on a console which displayed the magnified Operation chips that Dathan had removed earlier.

Captain Deadilus moved towards the screen. "Have you found anything in our computer that matches it?"

Ensign Remmick looked at Commander L'Cir.

"Yes, Captain, we have. We ran the tests four times just to be sure," Ensign Remmick began.

"What is it?" Asked the Captain eagerly.

"Captain, the signature is similar to the ancient writings found on the Dyson Sphere..."

The Captain turned to look at the screen again.
