Ensign Colón arrived for his shift in sickbay. Today was special; he would be working with Dr. Matthews the last two hours of his shift. Gabriel wanted to go over his proposal with the CMO about medical exchanges he had in mind. He placed the datapadd on the desk before him and turned his attention to the viewscreen to check out what was on the agenda for today.

"Hmmm, nothing out of the ordinary. Just two physicals for right now." He sighed in disappointment; Gabriel was looking for more action. In the Academy there was always a plethora of patients to choose from, ranging from scrapped knees to penta pocks to... well, you name it.

Gabriel stood up from the desk and walked over to Nurse Bunter. "Good morning, Nurse. Who is our first patient?" He asked

"Lieutenant Kolhn, in for his routine check up, Doctor," the nurse said walking over to the side of the sickbay bed.

Gabriel took a look at the datapad. *Hmmm, let’s see... male, twenty four years of age, five foot nine inches, weighing one hundred and sixty pounds, type O blood and has always passed his physicals with flying colors... this should be easy.*

"Alright, Lieutenant, if you could stand up for me please," Gabriel said placing the datapadd down and picking up a medical tricorder. "Well, everything looks good internally," he said picking up a mini flashlight. "If you could please follow my finger..." he asked as he moved his pointer finger in a circle noting the response from the eyes. "Perfect, just as I thought," Gabriel concluded.

The young doctor signed off on the datapadd and patted the lieutenant on his back. "You are free to go, just come back in if you are going down to the planet so I could compare data from before and after your mission."

"You got it Doc," he said with a nod.

The Ensign walked back over to his desk and did the normal paperwork for physicals. He was just about finished when he glanced over at his request... he was just over-excited about it. A new species, a new physiology he would be able to learn about and treat. For him to go down to the planet's surface would just be great. If Dr. Matthews would allow him to that is - Gabriel was inexperienced in away missions and didn’t know what kind of information to obtain, let alone how much information he was allowed to give.

The hours went by and physicals came and went, there was an exciting patient who came in complaining about his knee, Gabriel actually used the Ion-Screen which gave a real life image of what was going on inside of the crewman’s knee. Nothing but swelling, so just the routine anti-inflammatories and off he went.

The time came for Dr. Matthews to come in for duty and Gabriel stood at attention once more nodding to him.

"Good evening, Sir. How has your day been?" Gabriel asked with respect.

"It has been good, Gabriel. Anything exciting to report?" Dr. Matthews asked.

"No sir, just routine physicals and a patient complaining about his knee. Other than that it has been quite." Dr. Matthews nodded and looked at the reports sitting back in his chair with a smile. "Are you ready for rounds with me?" The CMO asked.

"Yes, Sir, very excited. However Sir, would you mind taking a look at this first?" Gabriel asked as he passed the datapadd over to the CMO, containing his request to make first exchange with the Renna in terms of Medical information. It was a very detailed and by the book request, explaining how the information would be exchanged, the benefits it would grant both civilizations as well as give them all a more in depth understanding on the Renna from a medical stand point.

The CMO nodded and looked up to Gabriel...
