Title: The Capture
Author: Ensign Colón
Time: Current
Scene: Planet Renna

Plunk'Sel and Ensign Colón walked into the medical facility where the Rennas doctor worked. Gabriel gazed upon the instruments used by the Renna medical staff. There were probes, needles (and thick ones at that) and scanners as well as other instruments he could not even begin to try and guess what they were for.

"Plunk'Sel, is this a general medical room or an intensive care unit?" Gabriel asked. The Rennas doctor picked up an instrument walking over to a patient. He attached the claw looking device to the patient's arm. It lit up transmitting information about the patient to a computer screen next to the large bed.

"This is a general care room, Doctor Colón. Our intensive care and emergency rooms are far more advanced than this..." The Renna looked about the room then put his attention back to the screen "...stupid primitive junk," he said with a sneer. The screen showed the physiology of the Renna; the different colors represented different aspects of the body. There were green, red and purple colors on the display, and off to the right side there were numbers. Gabriel was trying very hard to try and figure out what these things meant and how they could be related to human physiology.

"Skill'Nor here is a patient of my colleague. He has abdominal complications and must be taken into surgery in order for the micro flora in his gut to thrive normally. Do you understand me so far, Doctor Colón?" Plunk'Sel asked still touching the screen going over the information the computer gave him.

"I do, Plunk'Sel; the human intestines have micro flora as well. They aide in our digestion and absorption of nutrients..." Gabriel started to say

"Yuck! What an idiotic way for micro flora to behave in a body. In our bodies, they help aide in structure and regulation of fluids. They are more important than anything in the body. We eat so they have energy to help our bodies regenerate limbs, have hard outer skeletal structure and regulate the fluid balance so we can achieve optimum performance," Plunk'Sel said with a grin. Gabriel nodded and looked at the patient with curiosity.

"Is that why your patient's outer skin is soft?" he asked. Plunk'Sel touched the patient's abdomen and let out a sound of laughter. "You are correct Doctor. Good observation"

Plunk'Sel motioned over to another Rennas which Gabriel assumed to be a nurse or aide. They talked in their native language for a minute then the nurse took the patient from his bed and walked out of the room.

"Where are they going, Plunk'Sel?" Gabriel asked. The Rennas Doctor took up another instrument, similar to the one he put on the patient Renna. "They are going to surgery, Doctor Colón. Would you like to try this diagnosis device - we can see how our technology can scan your physiology. I could explain the different colors, sounds, numbers and sensations you are going to feel," he suggested. Gabriel nodded.

"I will have to check in with Doctor Matthews and then we can proceed with the scan," Gabriel stated, about to click his combadge.

"Of course, of course..." Plunk'Sel began, but as Gabriel pressed his badge, the Rennas placed the device on him, sending the Ensign's body into a convulsive shock; he couldn't stand the painful sensation going through his body and fell to the floor in a shock-induced coma.

"This is the Horizon..." someone said over the combadge. "...Hello? Ensign Colón... did you call, Sir?" The Renna Doctor picked up the badge and cleared his vocal chords, mimicking Gabriel's voice

"False alarm, I hit my communicator by mistake," Plunk'Sel said convincingly.

"Understood, Sir. Horizon out," the voice on the other end replied, closing the link.

The Rennas shook his head and smiled. *This is too easy* he thought. The Doctor walked over to a panel in the wall and hit a button showing a dark figure appearing before him.

"I shall have this human analyzed as soon as I can mistress. We will know their weaknesses, physiologically and psychologically," the Doctor stated.

Heata'Zan nodded with appeasement. "Make sure you purge his memory when you are finished my dear, Plunk'Sel. We don't want him to remember a thing." With a quick nod, Plunk'Sel terminated the transmission looking over to Gabriel.

"Your weak Federation should have been more careful, your capture was far too easy. Just first of many examples of your frailness..."
