Autumn was resting her head against the observation window; the gentle hum of the ship gave her a measure of reassurance. However, it did nothing to squash the turmoil that rampaged through her mind.

They had been part of a chain of events that had led to a star going supernova and a civilisation effectively being wiped out. Some would say it was survival of the fittest and that the universe was a safer place without the Rennas. Maybe they would be right, but the deaths of every individual would weigh heavily on the Chief of Operation’s mind for a long time.

But that wouldn’t be the only thing - Captain Lily Deadilus. As much as Autumn tried to ignore it, she knew that Lily was her daughter. But having now destroyed the Rennas that future may never come into play and, in her own way, Autumn guessed she was grieving for a loss of her possible future family.

She had firmly decided that she would not reveal her relationship with Lily to anyone, and as she had watched the future Horizon plot a course into the unknown, knowing that they had no place in space and time, Autumn had wanted to weep for the isolation her daughter and her crew would face. Ted kept throwing her sympathetic looks and she had a feeling the CMO knew more than he had let on.

Having left Alex at the Operations station on the bridge she had briefly paused looking out the observation window before going to check on the repair work being carried out. In Main Engineering Remmick had a smile fixed on his face, Autumn found this slightly worrying as it was out of character.

"Good news Commander." This slightly upbeat and optimist Marc had her peering into his eyes to she if there was signs of drugs use, but this exuberance seemed natural.

"Really Lieutenant?"

"Yes, we are making some good progress on our main objective systems. I should have some definite results within the hour."

Autumn smile at the Engineer when her combadge beeped.

[All senior staff to report to the Ready Room.]
