Title: Cinderella
Author: Ensign Bridget Conway
Time: After "once a upon time"
Scene: A very strange room

Gitta found herself in a wooden chair. She looked around to find she was not aboard the ship but was instead in a strange room. The room itself was small, there was a fireplace which had a little fire burning in it and two beds that were made of wood were placed in the two far ends of room.

The new Science Officer tried her combadge and tricorder but they were not functioning. *Okay, Gitta, get it together. You can handle this. You've just found yourself on your very first mission being beamed off the ship into a room that could be one of the dwarves' rooms from Snow White.*

That was when it hit her; she jumped off the chair and looked out of the window, shocked to see that the room was part of a castle. If she had not been so shocked, she would have enjoyed the view better - she had always liked fairytales. She looked down to see young man selling milk; he was dressed right out of a storybook.

"Where and, maybe the better question, when am I?" Gitta asked the young man.

She looked around the room again and her fear was confirmed - there was no sign of modern apparatus anywhere in the room expect for her combadge and tricorder, both of which did not work. She looked again through the window and saw a large tower that hid the castle from view. For a second in the distance, she could have sworn she could see the figure of man but he was too far to make out.

Suddenly, a middle-aged Trill woman dressed in clothes that had also come straight from a fairytale book entered the bedroom.

"Gitta, what are you doing there? You should be in the kitchen preparing the Queen's breakfast; she will be up in less a hour."

"Do we know each other?" Gitta had the strangest feeling that she knew the women.

The woman looked at her. "Of course! We have only shared this room for years. Are you sick? And why are you wearing that funny suit? You look like one of the court clowns." Suddenly Gitta realized where she had see the women before - she was on the manifest of the Grimalkin.

"Captain Shera?" Gitta asked.

The women looked at her and laughed. "Shera's right, but Captain? I can imagine the King’s face at the idea of a woman solider, especially a captain."

"But you are a captain. The Grimalkin is your ship and I am from the Horizon. We were sent to find out what had happened to you and your crew." The Captain just looked at her.

"What is the Grimalkin? My dear, my name is Shera and I am just a kitchen servant there at the castle like you. Maybe, I will have the doctor look at you later. I'm going to get your water bowl." And with that Captain Shera left the room.

Gitta sat on the bed and was rubbing her head in disbelief at the idea that the captain of a Starfleet ship would not have any idea that she was a Starfleet officer. It was like her past had been taken from her and replaced. Gitta wondered what or who could do that and if what was affecting the captain would start to affect her. Suddenly Shera come back with a large bowl of water.

"Now that you have changed your clothes, you had better get to the kitchen and start on the Queen’s meal."

"What do you mean 'now that I have changed'?" Gitta looked at herself and saw that she was wearing now dress that could have belonging to Cinderella.

"This is not good..."
