Scott noticed a chocolate thumb-print on his arm where Autumn had said goodbye; he couldn't help but smile.

The child inside the cage whimpered softly as the hag departed, along with a fresh batch of cookies (no-doubt poisoned), to tempt Autumn inside her full-of-gingerbread-goodness house. It was an offer the Captain hoped Autumn could resist!

As Deadilus slipped the latch to the window and crept inside the strange cottage, the sweet smells emanating from all around reached his nostrils, the broth on the cooker almost over-powering the chocolate-rich atmosphere.

Scott couldn't remember exactly how the Hansel and Gretel fairytale ended, but he was sure it involved an axe and chopping up the hag... No, wait... that was Red Riding Hood. Wasn't it?

Shaking the momentary confusion from his head, he grabbed the set of keys off the wall and proceeded to open the cage. The young child huddled against the back, away from this new stranger, whimpering louder now despite the Captain's best protestations and reassurances. But, as the old cage door swung open, creaking loudly, the Captain realised the game might just be up...
