General / Physical Data:
Planet Name: Renna No Image Available At Present
Class: M
Surface Gravity: 0.93g
Mean Radius: Unknown
Natural Satellites: None

Orbital Data:
Mean Orbital Distance: Unknown
Length of Year: Unknown
Length of Day: Unknown
Parent Star: Sigma Epsilon (destroyed)
Parent Star Class: Red Giant

Environmental / Surface Characteristics:
Atmosphere: Scientific analysis pending - supports humanoid life.
Hydrosphere: Only 20% of the surface of Renna is covered in oceans, lakes or rivers, supporting a very basic marine life.
Climate:

The relatively low thermal energy emitted from the red giant star orbited by Renna, coupled with the slow rotation of the planet, means that there is little wind and cloud formation. Seasons are mild, with the temperature varying by little more than 20degC between the cold of 'winter' and the heat of 'summer'.

Resources: Vast deposits of minerals exist as crystalline structures.
Indigenous Life: The Rennas are an insect-like humanoid species, averaging over 6ft (183cm) in height.

Technological Characteristics:
Major Settlements: Numerous large colonies detected on the planet's surface and subsurface (in the upper crust).
Spacedock(s): Shuttle services run from several small surface spacedocks, whereas larger craft are constructed at the handful of orbiting facilities.
Other Facilities: Analysis pending

Sociological Characteristics:
Government: A hierarchical structure exists in which several 'Darka' (literally translated as 'leader') reign over the workers, including positions such as 'Tecra' ('Lieutenant'), 'Nakra' ('Commander') and Plunk ('Physician').
Culture: Several languages exist, including the simplistic Renna-Tey ('the language of the guest') and the extremely complex Renna-Ah ('the language of the worker').
Affiliation: None, although trade is common with other races (exact specifics unknown).

Notes:

Dispatched to investigate a potentially warp-capable race on the borders of Federation space, the USS Horizon encountered a USS Horizon from forty years into the future; a future with no United Federation of Planets following a civil war caused by the Rennas.

Caught at the crossroads of fate, the crew of the present-day Horizon decided to continue with their First Contact mission, aware that they may well be setting in motion a chain of events that could be disastrous. However, some of the crew onboard the future-Horizon had a secondary mission, to be invoked if the course of history looked set not to change, a secondary mission that, ultimately, caused the supernova of the Renna home-system red giant and the destruction of their homeworld.

Status:
Planet destroyed during the supernova, although a few ships did escape. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
