POST FORMATTING

Symbols ('Identifiers') Used in Posts

To keep post formats similar and ensure posts are understood by all, a format of 'identifiers' has been drawn-up which writers should adhere to.

Class Identifier(s) Explanation
General =/\= Scene =/\= Location / Scene Identifier (Alternate)
General ~ 'Chapter' break
Communication " Speech " General speech
Communication * Thought * Thought, or telepathic speech
Communication [ Combadge ] Communications through combadge
Communication < Computer > Computer 'speech'
Communication { Broadcast } Broadcast messages. May be in [ ] also.

When using any of the communication class (except for speech) it is not required to include speech marks (").

Other symbols may be used in the future.

Post Language

Profanity (swearing) within a post should be kept to a minimum. Likewise, sexual references should not be excessive and appropriate to the storyline - if this site were to carry a rating it would probably be a 15 (UK), R (US) or similar.

Posts should be written in English, and preferably spellchecked! Don't worry about correcting American/English differences - we let them slide due to the international diversity of our writer group.

NRPG Usage

The NRPG ('Non Roleplaying Game') comment, sometimes referred to as OOC ('Out Of Character') by other RPG's, is usually placed at the end of a post and is a general comment to the other players. Occasionally, an NRPG might be inserted at the head of the post for the Editor's attention.

NRPG's will be removed from posts (along with email address, MSN / ICQ details, etc in footer) prior to posts being placed on the website. This is done primarily to prevent the author from spam by email-seeking 'bots' employed by today's spammers.
