Site
Apart from the regular site updates for posts and bioprofiles, there isn't much to report on this last quarter. However, we always welcome ideas of things we could add or change to improve it. To this end, Scott is currently working on some graphical deckplans for the USS Horizon. This is an ongoing work, taking up a lot of spare time, but hopefully we will see these results sometime soon!
Stories
With the Horizon’s storyline branching into directions not envisaged at the beginning, it has been fascinating that the crew are now not only studying the Brodarn spheres, but also dealing with the descendants of survivors of a crashed spaceship trapped inside the computer and a computer that seems to think it is a god... Meanwhile, on the Relentless, Jeremy stepped down as Captain Khavok (and Lieutenant Vilmer) and has left us with a void to fill. It has been encouraging to see such a smooth transition taking place, and the mission has well and truly got underway, what with the evil ‘Galt virus’ taking over the Relentless, the dangerous landing of the ship and the shuttles, the Destiny trying to find us and now the extra twist of the natives on the planet.
Announcements
This quarter we welcomed more new writers / characters, as listed below in no particular order:-
Sadly, we have already had to say ‘goodbye’ to Alex Ross’s writer for personal reasons, although the invitation to return at any time has been extended to him. Congratulations to the post of the month winners so far.
Other Trying not to sound too ‘heavy’ here, but our posting rate expectations are quite relaxed – whereas most RPGs out there expect one post per week, we only ask for a minimum of one post every three weeks to ensure your character remains marked as ‘active’. However, if this isn’t possible for a while then please let us know.
If you are going to be absent for even longer we would ask you to think about whether you really have the commitment for this game. To this end, we are going to start implementing more regular ‘activity checks’, emailing writers after approximately five weeks and ten weeks (exact timeframes to be finalised) to ensure both ships have the active crews they deserve. This shouldn’t affect most of the existing writers, but is more an effort to ensure that those new writers who don’t post don’t clog up the rosters with ‘dead wood’! ;)
This last month has been incredibly hectic for both myself and Scott, and we thank everyone for keeping the game on track, and are looking forward to getting into some great storylines next month.
Many thanks for reading.
Kind regards, Amy
