Infinity Quarterly

Site

The usual updates have continued to be done, with lots of changes occurring on the crew rosters and bioprofiles for those who have been promoted recently. We are also in the process of overhauling our FAQ section and have some sections to add to our databanks that we are hoping to have completed by the next Infinity Quarterly.

The Federation Map has been updated to include the recent worlds the Relentless and Horizon have visited (including Renna, the Horizon’s current planet, marked as ‘?????’ as Scott is not here at present and unable to modify that image without certain software). Whilst some details have yet to be completed, the bulk of the information is there for all the ‘linked’ worlds.

When it comes to advertising, this recent quarter has been one of change. We have updated our voting links (removing some due to a lack of cooperation from other administrators), started advertising in a few new places and even developed a ‘MySpace’ page (which can be found at http://www.myspace.com/star_trek_infinity). If you have a MySpace profile and wish to be added then you know what to do!

If you don’t have a writers info profile and you want one feel free to answer the questions on the website and send them in to the admin account. Alternatively, email us and we can send you the questions.

Stories

Both ships had very dramatic endings to their Chapter 3 missions and are getting their fourth chapters going.

With one of the Horizon’s crew fatally taken-over by the ‘god-complex’ computer, the ship narrowly escaped the sphere it was trapped inside, rescuing the dying-out inhabitants of the partially destroyed planet.  It was not all down to the crew however; the other spheres played a role in it and the Federation has been told that it is not yet ready to make contact. The fourth mission looks to be just as exciting when the Horizon from forty years in the future returns from a Federation-less future to warn the present crew not to trust the people they are about to make an alliance with…

(Sadly, the start to this storyline (in the last month) has been slower than anticipated, as Scott has been called away on work several times. However, he is back now and things are in full swing once again.)

The end of the Relentless’ storyline saw Relly taking revenge on the Galt sentience that had taken residence in Captain Khavok. Meanwhile, as the biological virus started to turn the crew dumb, nanotechnology gave them the respite they needed to develop a cure for the whole population. Now, with the ship back at Starbase 9 and before they were given permission to jump to the next universe, well-earned promotions were given out, including one to Abigail Winters, formally making her the Captain and Commanding Officer of the Relentless.

Announcements

Sadly, we have lost quite a few writers this month due to a lack of activity in the game and no reply to emails - how rude!! However, given that many of these were also writers in other RPGs, we now suspect that they were simply here to try to ruin the game and/or poach writers - yes, sadly that DOES happen…

On a happier note, congratulations go out to the post of the month winners.

Dedication awards were placed on both Abigail Winters and Scott Deadilus profiles for reaching 50 posts each.

Other

The Waverider and Horizon deckplans are STILL underway - Scott tells me that, as things go, they are a significant amount of work and a low priority, especially when it comes to writing!

We are working on some new ‘Welcome to ST : Infinity’ templates (including post hints and tips). If you have any feedback on what you received or other ideas in general, please let us know.

Many thanks for reading.

Kind regards,
Amy
