Character History
Born in 2352 to Ranlin and Sherisa Khavok, Alexander is the proverbial silver spoon child. An only child Alex benefited from enormous amounts of time and devotion from his parents who are in the Federation Diplomatic Corps. Most of Alex's childhood was spent on star ships of varying size. Because of his parents' profession Alex was often unable to remain in any one place for very long and was unable to attend any kind of traditional school. His parents compensated by giving him the best tutoring available. Alex is fluent in all major galactic languages with the obvious exception of the delta quadrant. Moving around so much as a child has made it difficult at best for Alex to form lasting and permanent relationships and has a tendency to keep distance between him and others. Alex is the consummate gentleman: educated, charming and unfailingly polite. It was rumored at Starfleet Academy that the only reason he was there was because of his parents. That misconception was to stick until the Dominion war.

Alex entered the Academy in 2369 and there for the first time in his life learned what it was like to be in a group of the best, brightest and most dedicated beings in the universe. It was at the academy that Alex's drive to be the best was kindled. It was here that he learned what to fail felt like and learned perseverance. Under the tutelage of the best teachers in the galaxy Alex honed his reflexes, both mental and physical into razor's edge precision. An accomplished pilot, Alex is an excellent fencer and has a black belt in jujutsu.

Graduating the Academy with honors during the height of the Dominion war was the first step on Alex's meteoric rise within Starfleet. Alex entered service just before the war began to turn to the Federation's side. He participated in a long, brutal campaign with both sides dedicated to wiping out the other. In many instances no quarter was asked and none given. Alex's promotion thru the ranks was a matter of skill, ferocity and luck; he simply had the knack for survival. He also had a talent for bringing ships and survivors back. The majority of his battles were with Breen and Cardassian forces and he came to despise them. The years after the war saw Alex assigned to scientific survey missions near Deneb. It was hoped by Starfleet Command that a posting on the other side of the galaxy would temper his feelings toward his one-time enemies.
