Infinity and Beyond

The newly commissioned USS Relentless and her crew are not welcomed by all of the Federation. After the Captain is arrested under false pretences and tortured over past vendettas, the Relentless escapes from Starbase 9 and heads into deep space.

Admiral Foster, an advocate of the young Captain Khavok, sends the crew on a secret mission to unearth the secrets of a Progenitor site, a site that no-one else has been able to enter. Once their, the team discover a device that integrates with the Relentless's systems, making the ship not only sentient but also capable of traversing between parallel universes. Their first jump is into a relatively friendly world, but the crew fast learns that you can't even trust yourself.
