Title: Not The Unpacking Party
Author: Loula Winters (Alex's Biggest Fan)
Time: After "All She Needs Is Her First Scratch"
Scene: USS Relentless

She hadn't liked being unceremoniously put down and left by the humans all on her own in this new place. But Loula decided it was probably best as she needed at least another solid 5 hours of sleep to meet her 18 hours-a-day quota. After munching on the biscuits that Abby had thoughtfully left out and using the new sofa as a scratch post she tried out the chairs in the living space for comfort. None really met the strict comfy chair criteria, not like the chair on the bridge now that was one of favourites.

After dismissing all the chairs she decided maybe she needed the extra softness of the bed. Stretching into a sphinx pose she quickly fell into a deep sleep and dreamt the usually dreams of being a goddess in Egypt when the pyramids were first being built.

The door had opened almost silently and the lights were put on very dimly so not to draw any attention. Loula might have slept through the whole thing had her feline senses not alerted her to something being wrong. Getting up from her warm patch on the bed she stalked into the other room. There she found a man rifling through Abigail's boxes; Loula didn't recognise him and he wasn't that nice Captain and he certainly didn't look like he was helping with the unpacking. In fact, as Loula watched him she decided he was definitely snooping. Abby wouldn't like the thought of a man going through her things; in fact it would probably be like that time Abby caught one of the nurses reading her personal logs. Loula thought the feeble nurse would never stop crying - Abby had a real temper when provoked.

The man continued looking through the boxes unaware that he was being watched. It was then that he started to head towards the bedroom. Loula was pretty sure that looking at Abby's knickers wasn't going to give this man any information that he so dubiously wanted so she let out a loud hiss. The man jumped and did a quick 180 degree turn to find the source of the noise; as his eyes settled on Loula his mouth curled into a cruel smile.

"Just a stupid cat" Loula took great offence at being called stupid and as the man extended his hand to her she took a swipe at him, dragging her claws (which she kept nice and sharp) along his flesh. The man jumped back in surprise cradling his hand.

"You are going to pay for that." The man went to kick Loula but with the grace and agility that most cats possess fled before he made contact.

[Bleep] The mans comm-link chirped.

"Go Ahead" The man said still nursing his hand.

[Found anything]. The voice over the comm Said.

"Nothing useful, where are they?"

[Still at the bar. How much longer are you going to be? Shift ends soon and there will be a lot of traffic through that area]. The voice sounded highly stressed.

"I'm leaving now". The man quickly scanned the room to check everything was as he had left it, he turned off the lights and left the XO's quarters.

Loula crawled out from her hiding space and slowly walked around checking the man hadn't left any nasty surprises. Then she settled her self on a chair and waited for Abby's return.
