Title: Sensory Overload

Scene: USS Relentless


Em'Rys watched as his new XO, and Chief Engineering Officer conversed. He was busy searching out their feelings. The CEO seemed determined to finish his current project, Em'Rys guessed that the ship had interacted with them. He could feel a... presence... all around them, a general feeling of excitement, and confusion. It was a new sensation; one he had no experience with.

"Excuse me, Commander."

Commander Winters turned towards him, surprised at the interruption.

"Yes, Ensign?"

"I would like permission to head to my Office. I think now would be a good time to set my stuff up."

"Carry on."

Em'Rys turned, and walked towards his assigned room.

Em'Rys walked in, and immediately sat behind the desk located in the office.

He had requested it, and was glad to own it.

He sat there for a few moments, and relaxed, feeling out the ship. He could feel an awareness, an intelligence that far beyond the normal bounds of humanoid evolution. He turned, and placed both of his hands on the wall behind him.

He startled, and quickly drew his hands back. The Ship had returned contact! He felt this was extremely weird, but placed his hands back on the wall, this time concentrating on trying to communicate.

He couldn't understand words, but he could feel the ship's questioning nature, searching for an answer to its own existence.

"I will try and help you." He said very softly, directed as the ship.

"Excuse me, sir?"

Em'Rys turned to see a young Petty Officer standing in the doorway of the office.

"Come in." He told the crewman, "Have a seat, and tell me what's wrong."

"Sir, when we were in the opposite universe, I saw myself differently."

"In what way?" He asked.

"Sir, I was a pregnant Klingon Female."

It really hit Em'Rys then what he was involved in. He would have a lot of work to do on this ship, including helping the ship itself.

"Ok, and how does that make you feel?" He asked, the typical Psychological question.
