The XO had decided it was best to let Captain Merdlock come to her rather than seek him out to tell him the fabricated lie about the loss of his highly dangerous cargo. It hadn't taken long for the irate Captain to find his way to her office.

Keeping it as simple as possible Abby had expressed sympathy at the loss of his cargo but had pointed out they had saved the most precious thing of all, his crew and passengers. Unable to argue without giving himself away the man had walked out with slumped shoulders.

[Commander] Clayton's voice sounded through her com-badge.

"Go ahead Lieutenant."

[You asked to be informed when Starbase 9 came into sensor range.]

"Thank you. Have you informed the Captain?"

[Yes Ma'am]

Breaking the link Abby got up to make her way to the bridge. As she reached the door some strange kind of feeling or instinct made her turn.

A flicking hologram of the child image Relly was curled up on the floor, shivering as if crying. A chill past through the XO and the faint word "Help" reached her ears as the image disappeared.

Shaken and confused Abby stared at the spot where Relly had been. Her com-badge bleeped again. The Ambassador's voice sounded as wobbly as he felt.

He quickly vocalized what she had seen but hadn't been able to interpret 'Something has happened to Relentless.' Jolted into action by his words Abby had the computer locate the Captain.

Alex was in his office and looked surprise as Abby walked in without knocking.

"Something has happened to Relly." The XO said without preamble.

"Is it the bomb?" The Captain asked making the logical connection. Abby paused she didn't really know.

"Not sure." Alex raised an eyebrow and for a second Abby was able to read him *My XO has flipped*

"Relly appeared to me hurt and Thessyr also thinks something is wrong."

"What did the Ambassador say?" 

Abby had to take a moment to recall what he actually said.

"He said 'Something has happened to Relly'." The XO felt impatience towards the Captain.

"Something like my XO has spilt coffee on my new office carpet or lights are malfunctioning."

"Alex, please trust me, something bad has happened to sentient part of Relly." They exchanged an intense look before the Captain hit his com-badge.

"Kal report"

[I was just about to contact you. I received the strangest message in some kind of binary code. I have just decoded it and it says 'HELP RELLY'.] The Chief Engineer's statement gave harder proof of Abby's and Thess' instincts.

[Plus I am registering power fluctuations and some system failures.]

"What do we do?" Abby asked unsure how to rescue something you couldn't see.

Alex paced for a few steps before coming to some decisions.

"Abby go back to your office and see if you can communicate with her, perhaps you can ask the Ambassador to help. Kal I want a full diagnostic of every system and I am going to raise security around the bomb."
