Scene: Hatchet's Quarters 


"Start Log." Said the new engineer as he sat in his quarters just before his shift began.

"Hatchet’s personal log supplemental. It seems like forever since the accident I had in engineering with that power coupling. I have been more careful as I have come to realise that one slip up and the whole ship can grind to a halt or, even worse, blow up. It’s been hectic the last couple of weeks, what with trying to find what the crew has called the Omega bomb and the other bugging devices."

He paused.

"Seeing as how I am still new to this whole universe jumping thing, it’s kind of confusing on what’s really happening; other selves, different wars, but I hope to catch up soon. The weird thing is that every time I wake up from a dream I feel disorientated. Perhaps its simply being in another universe, but if it happens to me again I'll alert the Chief Medical Officer. Let’s just hope they don't think I have gone crazy."

"Well it’s time for my shift. I better at least try and be prepared for what’s going to happen today. Let’s just hope that today is a normal day."

"Well, whatever passes for normal on this ship!" 

Paul looked around his small apartment.

"Computer, end log."
