Stardate: 70524:1500
Title: Lost and Found
Author: Executive Officer Abigail Winters
Time: Current
Scene: Near The Relentless Crash Site

Abby was crouched near the underbelly of the Relentless; this close up you could see that although she was still in one piece this magnificent machine was badly damaged, dented and scratched all over.

The XO was sure she had made the right decision by coming here, but she was all too conscious of the fact that what had driven them from the ship in the first place, was most likely still there.

Currently she was anxiously waiting for her team to all regroup, in the gloom that was descending as night moved in, she watched the second team cross the open divide, her attention was split between observing the crew and the bushes beyond.

If the natives truly were savage and there really was no reasoning with them, then she might have to give the order for the crew to use force, hopefully showing them our technological superiority and deadly power. But she was still puzzled by their interest in certain technologies from the shuttle and was worried about underestimate them.

As the last group started to cross the breach Abby may have let out the pent up breath a little too soon. One of the crew members fell to the ground, unable to shout out to the rest of the crew, the XO was relieved to see Keller had noticed and went to assist. As they started to run Abby turned to the group and gave them orders to get the access port open.

As the crew started their endeavour, out of the corner of her eye metallic objects flew through the sky. It took a few moments to process what they actually were – spears. She gave a hushed warning to the crew to watch the air for incoming, but to hurry up with the access hatch.

The fallen crew member both breathless and incoherent pointed behind her. Abby was all too aware that in the darkness that had settled around them, they were now down one crew member.

A cry of success indicated that they had managed to open the hatch, Abby was loathed to go inside with out testing it status but the continuous barrage of arrows indicated outside was not safe.

One of the young security officers went to go to find Keller but at that moment the natives started to leave the bushes and advance. She signal the man to stand down, on his own the helmsman might not seem a threat and survive, if others joined him the natives might feel threatened.

From the sky above Abby could make out flashes of light which looked remarkably like shuttles and they were headed in the direction of the Relentless. When her eyes returned to the drama that had been unfolding with Keller and the natives she was shocked to discover the space empty. No Keller, no natives, not ever the stirring of the bushes that they must have retreated into. A shiver of fear prickled her skin, the natives were obviously skilled hunters and they were on their own ground.

The falling stars were most definitely shuttles. Quickly dispensing orders, Abby put a couple of Security Officers outside the hatch to wait for the shuttles, the rest of the crew she split into groups, the majority were to stay near the hatch but work with the systems available to them to run diagnostics. A few were sent to the armoury and two others went with Abby to try and locate the Captain and any other remaining crew.
