As the doors to her quarters opened, Isabelle noted the soft glow from the monitor on her desk. Knowing that it was a cardinal sin to leave any computer on that was not in use, she immediately rushed over to turn it off.

'Appeal Denied' flashed slowly across the screen. 'You have been charged, tried and sentenced by our Justice System. Accept your fate.'

"Accept our fate?" Her voice grew louder as her rage increased. "We will NOT." She continued to speak to the empty room. "You say you dispense justice when you don't know the meaning of the word. We have not been granted due process, a key part of judicature in any thinking society."

"If you said that you had decreed we stay in this void for five months because you are bigger and stronger, then we would have little recourse but to accept our fate... but this? Oh no! I will not allow you to call this.. this... Kangaroo Court a Justice System! I intend to continue writing my motion. Once it is finished and you read it you will have NO choice but to allow us a proper defense and to that end, let us go..."

The JAG officer's voice trailed off as she slumped down into her chair and placed her head in her hands. Her heart sank. Isabelle knew she was making promises she couldn't possibly keep.
