Scene: Oak Paneled Study (Somewhere)
"The punishment is complete," he said. "Your move."
As the next contemplated his consequent action, the first watched as the bits of
Phantom dust floated softly to the floor. He knew that as his piece went, so
should have the Relentless. However, to cry foul without proof, would have been
a grievous breach of etiquette. Instead, he opted to question his still active
opponent.
"These Starfleet humans do appear to be marginally more resourceful than the
norm," he said absently, "although in this endeavor I can't but question the
degree."
The Relentless' Observer turned. "If there is something on your mind, please say
it. You know how I detest your cagey pursuits."
"It is simply this; BOTH ships were outmatched." He emphasized the word.
"If your Phantom chooses to sacrifice itself, what does that have to do with
me?"
"The Phantom didn't have the firepower left to do that much damage." He paused
briefly and watched for a reaction. "Why should you care about the Relentless? A
bunch of humans on a less than run-of-the-mill ship."
"I care for neither," came the stoic reply. "If you wish to call a foul then do
so and be done with it."
"No... not yet... anyway..." He turned to the next player and waited for his
move.
The Relentless' Observer closed his eyes and released and inaudible sigh of
relief. *You are safe, my songbird... for a little while longer...*
