Scene: Deep Space, a small planet outside the edge of the Milky Way galaxy


Chaos and mayhem.

The small planet orbited a dark and dying sun somewhere beyond the rim of the galaxy, one half looking out into the dark and empty depths of deep space whilst the other half peered longingly towards the Milky Way.

Under a night sky devoid of starlight and then bathed in the glow from an entire galaxy, with only a minuscule amount of light from the dying star they orbited, the inhabitants of this small planet had evolved in isolation.

War and terror.

The strange vessel turned towards the edge of the galaxy and prepared to engage its drive mechanism when the Theran vessel came into view, responding to the Relentless' earlier message. Captain Branagan and the rest of the bridge crew looked on in awe as the ominous black shape moved directly into their path. Captain Winters and those onboard the Relentless knew that the small civilian ship would stand no chance against such a formidable enemy should they choose to open fire.

Death and destruction.

As Captain Winters ordered the Relentless to close the distance in preparation for defending the Theran traders, the alien vessel charged its weapons. Usually they would not fire in their own universe, seeking rather not to announce their presence to those who inhabited this galaxy. But they had been seen...

Chaos. Mayhem. War. Terror. Death. Destruction. Those that had evolved on the small dark and distant planet had known a history with nothing but these things and, as they stretched their influence out into the universes beyond, spreading chaos and mayhem, war and terror, death and destruction wherever they went, their history continued to know nothing but these things still...
